The eThekwini Municipality, in collaboration with Trade and Development KZN, has selected ten businesses to exhibit at the Global Entrepreneurship Festival in Accra, Ghana.
A rigorous selection process, which identified ten innovative businesses to represent the region, culminated from insights shared during the Resurgence Conference Durban 2025, held from September 20 to 24 at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre.
The conference which was themed “Thicker Slice of the Economic Pie,” brought together a dynamic mix of leaders, investors, innovators, and entrepreneurs from across Africa and the global diaspora.
Among the ten selected businesses was Uthando Glow Beauty and Wellness, founded by Thando Chisane and located in the heart of Durban’s CBD.
Uthando Glow, which offers a range of skincare products and facial treatments, had already made waves internationally, having previously obtained customers from Ghana during the conference in Durban.
The Uthando Glow owner’s excitement was palpable when she showcased her products at the festival.
Chisane expressed her appreciation for the opportunity, and said: “Thank you to the municipality for selecting us as upcoming entrepreneurs to go and exhibit in Accra, Ghana, at the Global Entrepreneurship Festival and to also pitch for our businesses.”
Her words echoed the aspirations of many local entrepreneurs eager to expand their global footprint.
She was optimistic about the potential for growth and hoped to further strengthen business ties with new clients she attracted during the festival at the ICC.
“I believe that this participation will help me attract new customers,” she emphasised, highlighting her commitment to promoting her brand.
