Sweet Guluva’s team has released a statement addressing growing speculation that the reality TV star is not a present father to Ash-ley Ogle’s newborn son, Kenzo-Lu.
The rumours began circulating online shortly after Ogle shared an Instagram post revealing the birth of her baby on Valentine’s Day, a post that sparked curiosity about the child’s paternity.
While Ogle did not confirm the identity of the father, many social media users assumed it was linked to her former relationship with Sweet Guluva, which began during “Big Brother Mzansi” season 5.
In a detailed statement released by his team, Sweet Guluva has firmly denied claims that he has distanced himself from the child. According to the statement, he has made repeated efforts to handle the matter privately and responsibly with Ogle’s family.
“We would like to take this opportunity to take you into confidence on the rumours currently circulating on social media alleging that Akhonamathemba Zwane, affectionately known as Sweet Guluva, is an absent father,” the statement reads.
The team explained that Sweet Guluva intentionally remained silent for months to avoid public conflict, noting that his relationship with Ogle had been “a thing of the past” and that private communications should have stayed confidential.
However, the statement claims that since the beginning of 2025, Sweet Guluva has been requesting to meet the child and has asked for his family to formally engage Ogle’s family to pay “intlawulo” (damages) in line with Zulu cultural practices.
“During these interactions, it was made clear by Sweet Guluva that he wants to be involved in the child’s life,” the statement continues. “To date, Sweet Guluva has neither met nor seen this child in person as Ms Ogle is refusing to accede to the request.”
The team further stated that "Big Brother Mzansi" season 5 winner Sweet Guluva has documented all attempts to resolve the matter privately and has since handed the issue over to legal representatives.
The statement also addressed a video currently circulating on social media in which Ogle is asked by fans about the identity of the father of her child. In the video, she repeatedly responds with the word “jwaang,” which some viewers interpreted as confirmation that Sweet Guluva is the father.
According to his team, this assumption may have been influenced by a TikTok video Sweet Guluva posted in February 2026, where he used the Sesotho word “jwaang”.
They added that it would be irresponsible for him to confirm or deny paternity until a DNA test is conducted.
“Until Ms Ogle allows Sweet Guluva and his family to meet the child in person and be permitted to do a paternity test, it would be irresponsible of Sweet Guluva at this stage to confirm or deny that he is the father,” the statement said.
Addressing the wider public narrative, the team emphasised that Sweet Guluva has never avoided accountability.
They further emphasised to the fans of Sweet Guluva that he is a responsible man that has never, and would never, run away from his responsibilities.
