Guys, if there’s one thing that’s truly off-putting, it’s a bad wig. Especially when a good one could have been afforded.

This is the same man who could pull off bald and even a pink mohawk… but apparently not Maui’s wig.

Recently, Disney dropped the trailer for the live-action "Moana" (not that anyone asked), starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as Maui and Catherine Laga’aia as Moana.

And people are shambolic over here. The clip went viral faster than a cat video because, well, The Rock’s wig.

Now, don’t get me wrong, it’s not the absolute worst that I’ve seen. It’s got curls, it’s got waves… It’s giving “rolled-up rollers on a Saturday afternoon, just taken out” vibes.

But let’s be real, they definitely could've gotten a better wig for the  bloke. Unless this is AI, but even so.

But really, one has to wonder, did Hollywood suddenly forget how to do wigs, or was this some budget cut so deep they had to recycle Maui’s hair from a community theatre production?

The Rock is carrying the CGI, the muscles, the charisma… but apparently not a hair department that can actually, you know, do their job.

Fans are annoyed because the wig looks more like a hair experiment than a heroic demi-god transformation.

One fan (or not so fan anymore) commented: “There are just some things I wouldn’t do for money. Like being seen in public with that wig.”

Other comments are unvarnished. “Wig is awful, and the body is obviously CGI. Why would Disney do this? The Rock had plenty of muscle as is.” Another brutally simple review: “This wig is not it.”

Boy, don't we know it.

Fans are irritated because "Moana" didn’t need a live-action remake in the first place. The animated version was already iconic, leaving many questioning why we need a version where the only thing getting attention is The Rock’s hairpiece.

Plus, Maui’s character is larger than life, not “Saturday salon experiment” life.

So, Disney, take note: if you’re going to put The Rock in a wig, make it epic, not “my aunt’s DIY wig experiment.” Otherwise, you’re just inviting the internet to clap back.
