Music lovers are in for a major treat as Don Laka, Naledi Aphiwe and Mnqobi Yazo lead an exciting line-up at the upcoming Ugu Jazz Festival 2026 on the South Coast.

Festival organisers have confirmed more artists and comedians for the expanded three-day experience, which promises music, comedy, worship and culture from June 25 to June 27, at the Ugu Sports and Leisure Centre.

Hosted by the Ugu District Municipality, in partnership with Coolsounds Trading and led by Siyabonga Msomi, this year’s event follows the festival's successful relaunch in 2025.

“We want to create more than just a music event. The idea is to build a festival that celebrates culture, entertainment and the beauty of the South Coast while also contributing to the local economy.

The response from artists, partners and supporters has been incredible, and we are excited about what lies ahead,” said Msomi.

The festivities kick off on June 25, with the Gala Dinner and Comedy Night featuring performances by Mondli Ngcobo and Zawadi Yamungu.

Comedy lovers can also look forward to laughs from Simphiwe Shembe, Simunye Churchboy, Mondli Mzizi and Nonto R.

On June 26, the festival changes pace with a Worship Experience led by gospel artist Mpumi Mtsweni alongside pastors and worship leaders.

The main event takes centre stage on June 27, inside a massive transparent dome marquee, where festival goers will enjoy live performances from some of South Africa’s most loved artists.

The line-up includes Siphokazi, Ernie Smith, Mawelele, Danya, Bongani Nkwanyana, Olefied Khetha, DJ 101, DJ Muntu Jikeleza, Fanie Dick, Tender Mavundla, DJ Mshediz and more.

Ugu District Municipality Mayor Sikhumbuzo Mqadi said that the festival is also expected to bring tourism and economic opportunities to the region.

“When people come to the event, they are not only attending a festival, they are experiencing our coastline, our culture and our potential as the destination,” said Mqadi.

Msomi said that this year’s edition is about taking the festival to another level.

“Last year was about reestablishing the festival and reminding people of its potential. This year, we are building on that foundation by delivering a more immersive, multi-day experience,” he said.
