Entrepreneur, author and motivational speaker Dr Tash Reddy is one step closer to her goal of helping to heal traumatised women, men and children in South Africa and around the world.

Through her new initiative, Dr. Tash Reddy Official, she provides expert trauma and grief counselling alongside specialised movements designed to help others find their footing after life’s hardest hits.

Recently nominated for the Women Changing the World award in Paris, Reddy’s influence is stretching across borders.

"I hope to one day build trauma and wellness clinics around the world, to run programs and movements that function globally that help women, men and children," she said.

"It's about creating mental awareness, creating such a high level of mental awareness, especially around GBV, rape, sexual assault and rebuilding life after any setback," says Reddy.

"This is my passion, I love helping people, changing their lives, seeing them grow, seeing them discover new things about themselves, and when I saw how much all my counselling helped all the widows around the world, in just South Africa, I knew that this was something I could expand and grow and do with my life.

"So that's what I decided to do. I took a leap of faith.

While Reddy earned her doctorate in 2011, her path to counselling was paved by personal trials and a career in media. It was during periods of physical recovery that she deepened her studies into the mechanics of the human spirit.

"I got my doctorate in 2011 and never did anything with it because I was more interested in media, but over the years I've had numerous life-threatening surgeries...

"While I sat in bed healing, I studied and one of the things that really intrigued me was childhood trauma because I had gone through that as well."

Today, Reddy is offering a "wide scope" of support, including:

  • The Resilient Child Method: A program formulated to help children navigate divorce, depression and bullying.

  • "It’s not right, but it’s okay, we rise": A movement for survivors of narcissistic or abusive relationships.

  • 'Mental Health Bites' and 'Hope Beyond Scars': Global podcasts providing accessible mental health advice.

  • A GBV support app: A safety tool for South African survivors that links directly to emergency services.

Born from pain

Reddy’s work is deeply personal. She openly shares her struggles with loss, financial depletion, and a volatile divorce to show others that rebuilding is always possible.

"I don't think there is any trauma I didn't go through... I know the pain I've experienced, I know the hurt, heartbreak, betrayal, deceit, loss, medical trauma, illness, rejection.

"I think I've gone through everything, losing everything I had, having to start again from nothing and now going through a very volatile divorce. I am living proof that it can be done."

For those currently in the broken moments of life, Reddy offers a perspective shift. She believes that even the most depleted state is where true strength is found.

"I want people to know that regardless of what you go through, there is nothing that can break you to a point where you can't build yourself again into the person you want to be. I am living proof that it can be done.

"The moment that you feel broken, when you feel like there is nothing left and you are too depleted to even get up again, I want you to know that, it is in that moment, if you just stay still, you will find that your most powerful strength will come out of you.

"In moments when we are broken, don't look at it negatively. Yes, sometimes bombs explode in our lives, but we are left with the remanence, and we can see what is happening ... It is rather that it is in front of you than behind your back.

"You can then pick up from that and build the person that you want to be and the life you want to have.

"Anything is possible. Think about if life were perfect, what would it look like to you. Then create the possibilities to achieve it. Nothing in life is wasted, no lesson, no experience, no person. Every single thing worked together for good to be bring you to who you are now," ended Reddy.
