South African comedian Mpho “Popps” Modikoane and his wife, Latoyah, expressed their love for each other on social media as they marked their third wedding anniversary on February 18.
To mark this milestone, the couple shared a series of pictures from their 2023 wedding day celebration, offering fans a glimpse into their special day and shared heartfelt messages for each other.
Mpho thanked Latoyah for always supporting him and positively impacting his life.
“Happy anniversary, Latoyah Makaelo Modikoane, thank you for making my life so much better. I love you so much ❤️,” the comedian captioned his post.
Latoyah also penned a heart-warming message dedicated to her husband, thanking him for loving her and reflecting on their journey together.
“Happy Anniversary, my love @mphopopps ❤️God has been so incredibly good to us and our little family.
“Thank you for loving me the way you do and for making me the happiest woman in the world. Our full-circle moment, and this is only the beginning. I love you my Poppy ♾️,” she wrote.
In September 2024, the couple held a traditional ceremony called “Ho hlabisa bogadi”, which is done when the groom is welcomed into the bride’s family.
Videos from the ceremony went viral on social media after fans were left convinced that they had a traditional wedding ceremony.
However, the comedian once explained that they were not getting married but rather doing that ceremony instead.
Latoyah shared a series of images from the traditional ceremony, expressing that gratitude and deep faith for how blessed they are to be surrounded by an amazing support system.
“Last week, we celebrated our umembeso ceremony. What a truly blessed day it was. Looking back at these moments leaves me in awe of what God has done for us, His goodness and His faithfulness that continues to carry us.
“Surrounded by people who love us, support us and constantly cheer us on, we are reminded of just how deeply blessed we are,” she posted.
The couple tied the knot in 2023 in a civil ceremony, and they share a 13-year-old daughter, Imani.
