If you think the red carpet is all sparkly gowns and polished tuxedos, 2025 is ready to prove you very, very wrong.

This year, the fashion world decided to get a little weird.

We aren't talking "bold colours" or "weird patterns". We are talking literal castles, musical instruments, and outfits that made us do a double-take just to see if they were actually wearing clothes.

Here’s a look at some of the most bizarre fashion moments of the year.

Bianca Censori

The event: 2025 Grammys

Kanye West and wife, Bianca, are basically the king and queen of making people uncomfortable.

At the 2025 Grammys, they arrived looking almost normal for a split second.

Then, Censori shed her fur coat to reveal a completely sheer illusion slip dress that was essentially a birthday suit with a light dusting of fabric.

They allegedly left the event shortly after walking the carpet.

Jaden Smith

The event: 2025 Grammys

Jaden Smith has carried his own hair and a gold Grammy award as a prop before, but this year, he brought the whole neighbourhood.

He paired a sharp Louis Vuitton suit with a "Vampire Castle" helmet by the brand ABODI.

It wasn't just a hat; it was a literal gothic fortress with turrets and gates.

One has to wonder how he sat through a four-hour ceremony with that object on his head.

Kim Kardashian

The event: 2025 Academy Museum Gala

Kim Kardashian has officially entered her "I don't need to breathe to be famous" era.

For Glenn Martens’s couture debut at Maison Margiela, Kim wore a full-head mask that completely erased her face.

The look featured an extreme, nipped-in waist and a silver-and-emerald choker keeping the mask in place.

What’s even crazier is that she actually spent hours in the makeup chair just to hide the entire look under a nude stocking.

Andre 3000

The event: 2025 Met Gala

Andre 3000 took the "promotional tour" vibe very literally by showing up as a baby grand piano.

To celebrate his EP 7 Piano Sketches, he strapped a custom Steinway replica (made of foam and 3D-printed parts) to his back.

He paired this musical backpack with a Burberry jumpsuit and a literal trash bag in hand.

Rihanna

The event: 2025 Gotham Awards

Even the Queen of Style has an "off" day. Riri showed up in a bubblegum pink Balenciaga gown that looked like a cross between a luxury duvet and a giant marshmallow.

The dress had a weird, bulbous shape that swallowed her famous curves, topped off with a feathered cap and black leather gloves.

We love a risk-taker, but this one was a rare "miss" for the icon.

Lyas Medini

The event: 2025 British Fashion Awards

You might not know Lyas Medini yet, but you definitely know what his anatomy looks like now.

The fashion commentator showed up in a Jean Paul Gaultier bodysuit that was, well, graphic.

The head-to-toe look featured a hyper-realistic print of a naked man, complete with body hair and everything else.

It was "naked dressing" taken to a terrifyingly literal conclusion. It’s safe to say no one was looking at his shoes.
