It’s 2026, and we are still policing women’s bodies? How disappointing.

Former Miss Universe, Zozibini Tunzi-Bolowana, sparked a buzz on social media after her appearance at the 19th edition of the Saftas.

The “Bad Influencer” actress looked beautiful in a white outfit that features a cut-out crop top made of layered strips of white fabric that are wrapped in a bandage-like design.

She paired the top with a voluminous white skirt that has layered ruffles. Tunzi-Bolowana kept the jewellery simple with huge gold earrings and gold chunky bracelets.

For the hairstyle, she sleeked her hair into a side-parted hairstyle and kept her make-up minimal.

The former Miss SA looked absolutely stunning, and her outfit was giving high fashion minimalism, which was simply perfect for the Saftas.

The beauty queen gave us a second look when she presented an award alongside actress Thuso Mbedu.

Both ladies looked stunning, both radiating elegance and sophistication in their matching red ensembles.

Tunzi-Bolowana wore a red strapless gown that transitions into a dramatic skirt. Mbedu wore a deep red sequined gown that features a deep V-neckline.

However, the internet shifted the conversation from her stunning outfits to her body, as they kept making comments about her stomach specifically.

Speculations that the 32-year-old model might be pregnant started circulating on social media.

“No one talking about the pregnancy that we can see?” @SekaoM_86 wrote.

“They're gonna say we womb watching, but it is giving bump!” @KholuKay wrote.

“Is she soft-launching her pregnancy?” @NnanaMosholi added.

Honestly, it is quite disappointing to see how everyone is making it a conversation because if there’s one thing society should have outgrown by 2026, it’s the habit of policing women’s bodies.

Why have we abandoned the principles of body positivity and the acceptance of natural bodily changes as we age? Where is the respect for personal space that allows individuals to share their own news on their own terms?

The frustrating thing about all this is that so many women who are in the public eye have consistently asked the public to refrain from making comments about their bodies, but still, years later, we are still here.
