For the 2026 Fifa World Cup, the Bafana Bafana away jersey by adidas has emerged as one of the most highly ranked designs globally, even reaching number one on several expert lists.

"GiveMeSport" placed the home jersey at number eight and the away jersey at number one, highlighting its clean execution and visual identity.

"ESPN" also ranked the home kit at number five, noting, “Bright, boisterous but still a classic design here from adidas,” while awarding the top spot to the away jersey and adding, “adidas have pulled off something effective and memorable with Bafana Bafana’s away kit; two greens, white trim, gold trefoil. Nothing excessive, nothing forced.”

"SPORTbible" gave the away jersey a perfect score, writing, “Everything about this kit is sublime. From the dark green and gold colour combination to its stripes and traditional patterns, it really is a thing of beauty.”

On social media, Spanish football fan @milenialmentor ranked it number one in his list of the “10 most beautiful shirts for the 2026 World Cup,” further amplifying its global reach.

The home jersey, unveiled on March 3, is a modern update of the 2010 World Cup design, featuring a vibrant yellow base with green detailing on the collar and sleeves.

Its most distinctive feature is a tonal fabric pattern that represents South Africa’s 12 official languages, including South African sign language, while the crest, adidas logo and Safa badge remain prominently positioned across the chest.

The away jersey, launched on March 19, has been widely praised for its minimal yet structured design. It features a dark green base with gold and white accents, a fold-over polo collar and subtle geometric striping.

It also marks the return of the adidas Trefoil logo to federation kits for the tournament. Designers describe the green as a symbol of resilience and growth, while gold and white reflect ambition and national pride.
