Woman of Action, a seniors group from Lavender Hill, hosted an appreciation dinner for home carers, at Coniston Park hall, in Steenberg, on Saturday March 26.
Ward 68 councillor Marita Petersen supplied gifts and the appreciation certificates for the home carers from Steenberg, Lavender Hill, Capricorn and Retreat.
Michele Arendse, founder of the non-profit organisation, said: "I was so moved by the home carers while watching them walking daily in the hot sun or stormy weather as they take the medication to the various homes of seniors."

Ms Arendse said the theme was "Back to school" and all seniors dressed up in school clothes.
A three-course meal was served and each one received a certificate handed over by the seniors.
"I want to thank councillor Petersen for her generous contribution of gifts for each person and for the making of certificates and thank you to everyone that put up their hand to (make the event a success),” Ms Arendse said.
