Durban’s uShaka Beach was a hive of activity on Tuesday as young children revelled in a day of seaside fun, making the most of the final days before the school holidays drew closer to the end.

Accompanied by parents and guardians, the youngsters flocked to the popular beachfront destination to escape the high daytime temperatures that characterised Durban during the day.

Scores of people rushed to cool off at uShaka Marine World in Durban South Beach on Tuesday, taking advantage of scorching weather, with Durban reaching 33 degrees celsius.

With temperatures peaking around 33 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, it was reason enough for outdoor activities and water-based fun.

Scores of children were seen joyfully playing and swimming in the pools, laughing and splashing as they made the most of the warm weather, a last hurrah before it is back to the classroom and homework drills.
