The Metropolitan Collective Shapers’ Impact Branch is celebrating the achievements of Season Four of its programme, which began in 2021 and has steadily grown in prominence, recognising and rewarding young entrepreneurs across the country in sectors such as hospitality and agriculture.

Initially, the programme highlighted youth agriculture entrepreneurs from Polokwane. It later expanded into hospitality in Tshwane, agriculture in KwaZulu-Natal, and has now evolved into a fully national initiative.

This year’s event was hosted on Thursday at the Protea Hotel by Marriott Balalaika in Sandton, Johannesburg.

Charmaine Mhlongo, the programme’s Head of Brand Marketing, told the publication that Season Four focused on empowering young entrepreneurs in agriculture and logistics, equipping them to scale their businesses and create meaningful impact. The event celebrates not only the participants’ milestones but also the programme’s alumni and the overall achievements realised over the years.

“This progression reflects a growing dedication to cultivating a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem in the country. We’ve been privileged to witness the growth of incredible individuals striving to make a difference in their communities,” said Mhlongo.

While the morning session recognised the top ten finalists for the current season, full details of their achievements were kept under wraps. Organisers indicated that the candidates’ accomplishments would be fully disclosed later in the day’s proceedings.
