The body of an unidentified male, believed to be in his thirties, was discovered in an advanced state of decomposition in a cane field along Jabu Ngcobo Road in Tea Estate, Inanda, Durban.
According to Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), officers located the remains, which showed preliminary signs suggesting the deceased may have been strangled. However, authorities have not confirmed this finding and investigations are ongoing to establish the exact cause and circumstances of the death.
A tarpaulin was discovered next to the body and is believed to be linked to the case, although its exact significance has not yet been determined.
The victim’s identity remains unknown, and efforts are underway to determine who he was and how he came to be in the cane field.
Authorities have urged anyone with information related to the case to come forward as investigations continue.
Law enforcement officials said inquiries are still in the early stages as they work to uncover the circumstances surrounding the death.
