His Majesty King Misuzulu kaZwelithini has appointed Prince Afrika Zulu as the Deputy Royal Chancellor of the Zulu Kingdom.

King Misuzulu kaZwelithini has appointed Prince Afrika Zulu as the Deputy Royal Chancellor of the Zulu Kingdom, a move aimed at strengthening the kingdom’s royal administration.

The appointment was announced by the Office of the Traditional Prime Minister, Reverend Thulasizwe Buthelezi, who said the decision forms part of the king’s efforts to strengthen, modernise and reposition the Zulu Kingdom’s governance structures.

Prince Afrika Zulu will serve as deputy to the Royal Chancellor, Iso leSilo Malusi Zondi, and will assist in supporting the Office of the Royal Chancellor and the broader governance framework of the kingdom.

According to the statement, Prince Afrika Zulu joins the royal administration with experience and knowledge of the institution, and is expected to play a role in promoting the interests of the Zulu Kingdom.

He will also form part of the Prime Minister’s Executive Council, the highest decision-making structure within the Zulu Kingdom operating under the authority of the king.

The council is chaired by the Traditional Prime Minister, Reverend Thulasizwe Buthelezi, and includes several senior leaders within the royal governance structures.

Members of the council include Deputy Traditional Prime Minister Inkosi Phathisizwe Chiliza, Royal Chancellor Iso leSilo Malusi Zondi, Deputy Royal Chancellor Prince Afrika Zulu, His Majesty’s spokesperson Prince Thulani Zulu, and Prince Nathi Zulu, who serves as the king’s representative in the Provincial House of Traditional Leaders.

The council is responsible for supporting the king’s governance priorities, including cultural preservation initiatives, community development programmes and broader national engagements.

Buthelezi congratulated Prince Afrika Zulu on his appointment and wished him success in the role as he takes up his responsibilities in service of the king and the Zulu nation.
