How far you can see depends on variables. Because of the curvature of the Earth, a person 1.7–1.8m tall can only see to the horizon about 4.8km away. Raise them 10m and the distance is about 11km. If the air is very clear, mountains more than 200km away are visible. The furthest object the naked eye can see is the Andromeda Galaxy, 2.5 million light-years away.
1169 Saladin (real name Yusuf, but most often addressed as Salah ad-Din, meaning “righteousness of the faith”) becomes the emir of Egypt. It is renamed the Kruger National Park in 1926.

2015 Richard III of England is reburied at Leicester Cathedral in England after his long-lost remains were discovered under a parking lot in 2012. He was the last king of the House of York and the last of the Plantagenet dynasty.
