As the sun sets on another vibrant summer, Durban is poised to welcome one of its marquee events, the Dubane Summer Break.
This much-anticipated festival taking place on Sunday at uShaka Marine World will be hosted by the celebrated Durban hip-hop duo DreamTeam, comprised of Lusaso “Saso” Ngcobo and Trevor “Trey” Sineke.
The event promises to be a lively showcase of cultural richness and musical talent, headlined by chart-topping artists Young Stunna and Blxckie, other artists set to feature are Goldmax & Dankie Boi, Beast, Dladla Mshunqisi, Buko & DJ Sox, Loki, Louis Ribbs, and Tobzela, with PoloB curating the energy throughout the day alongside DreamTeam.
“As artists born and bred in Durban, it’s always rewarding to host festivals that unite families and youth while celebrating the culture and vibrancy of the city we love,” said the duo in a statement.
Recently, Durban was recognised as one of the best destinations in the world, ranking 14th on Time Out Worldwide’s ‘Best Places to Travel in 2026’, ahead of notable locations such as Saint Helena Island and Barra dos Remédios.
The Dubane Summer Break is expected to attract thousands, amplifying Durban’s cultural footprint and showcasing its rich artistic heritage on a national level.
Melusi Khumalo, Regional Marketing Manager at Durban Tourism said their unit remained committed to strengthening key tourism drivers within the city.

Beyond the music, the event is also dedicated to spotlighting local talent and providing opportunities for youth in various creative roles, reinforcing the festival’s commitment to giving back to the communities that have nurtured Durban’s vibrant arts scene.
Set against the stunning backdrop of uShaka Marine World, the festival promises a secure, family-friendly atmosphere, with lifeguard-patrolled areas, controlled access, and comprehensive safety measures ensuring peace of mind for all attendees.
