Football fans celebrated Mamelodi Sundowns’ CAF win over the weekend, and some lambasted Morocco’s behaviour, saying they shouldn’t be allowed to host the CAF again
@robertmarawa As we sit watching this all important game on the continent.....How is this even allowed by @CAF_Online @CAF_Media What a bunch of anti-sportsmen/nation!
@maloka2158 What is taking so long for Fifa to intervene? We have seen too many of these incidents in the Caf Champions League. This team needs to learn a lesson – they just don’t know how to deal with a loss.
@CrampShellVibes This season I watched Pirates lift the League and 2 other cups and Sundowns the champions league, but the Motaungs want us to celebrate position 3. The sad part is my team, Chiefs, won’t even come out guns blazing with top signings. They will take more short cuts in the name of ‘building’.
@AtKoraMaroc Catastrophic refereeing in this Champions League final (as always). AS FAR was robbed of at least 2 penalties, as well as 2 red cards for Sundowns.
@HatimelMourabi These finals and advanced stages should be officiated by European referees. Once again, Morocco is the victim of refereeing injustice. Hard luck to AS FAR, who missed the chance to get back into the scoreline twice, their concentration disrupted by the referee’s decisions right from the start of the match.
@_DimpledMo They said Sundowns’ win does not matter because Pirates won the league. Now all the attention is on Sundowns.
@iTouchCandi It’s painful to watch. Sundowns worked so hard for years to put South African football on the global map with professionalism, consistency and excellence. But what we witnessed this season has damaged the credibility of the league in a way that will take years to repair.
@Constitution_94 Mamelodi Sundowns is used to lifting trophies in empty stadiums, shame. They are left with mosquitoes in that giant stadium. Moroccans are already home.
@garyalsmith Shortly after Sundowns started warming up, a firecracker was launched from the AS FAR fans’ stand, to loud cheers. Sundowns’ travel preps were disrupted after the team was temporarily stranded when their landing clearance was initially denied in Morocco. It took several days to clear.
@Malatjie_ Just by being in the CAF final alone, Sundowns already made double that amount.
@SugaAnthony Ronwen Williams with a save from the penalty spot to rectify his mistake. 80’ AS FAR 1:1 Sundowns.
@_ladytopaz Does your hate for Sundowns really mean you would support North Africans? Worst of all, Moroccans?
