Limpopo police have launched a manhunt after a well-known Polokwane-based security company owner was shot dead in Mankweng on Tuesday night.

Police in Limpopo have launched a manhunt following the fatal shooting of a well-known Polokwane-based security company owner in Mankweng, spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said.
The 43-year-old man was shot dead on Tuesday night, 16 December, at about 11.30 pm in Unit A, Mankweng, which falls under the Mankweng policing precinct in the Capricorn District.
According to Ledwaba, officers responding to a report of a murder found a white Ford Ranger double cab with Gauteng registration parked in the middle of the road. The man’s body was discovered lying next to the vehicle, with a gunshot wound.
Some of the victim’s belongings, including cellphones and a laptop, were found inside the vehicle.
A murder case was opened at Mankweng police station and later transferred to the Provincial Murder and Robbery Unit for further investigation. The motive for the killing remains unknown, and no suspects have been identified at this stage.
Meanwhile, Limpopo provincial police commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has condemned the killing and ordered that all necessary resources be mobilised to track down those responsible.
Police said investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the murder.
