Police are investigating a murder and attempted murder case after seven people were shot in Alexandra, leaving one dead and six others injured at a local clinic.

One person has been killed and six others injured in a shooting in Alexandra in the early hours of Saturday, police said.
Police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi said the shooting occurred in 6th Avenue between John Brand and Hofmeyer Street after an argument between two individuals escalated into gunfire.
''It is reported that the two individuals were arguing on the street when one of them allegedly drew a firearm and started shooting randomly, leaving seven people injured,'' she said.
The injured victims were transported to a local clinic, where one person was declared dead on arrival, while the remaining six were treated for injuries.
Nevhuhulwi said police have opened a case of murder and attempted murder with six counts and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
