Music fans came out in their droves when two concerts were staged in Johannesburg.
94.7 Highveld Stereo's annual Joburg Day, held at the Randburg Sports Stadium, attracted 12 000 fans on Saturday.
The MTV base Alert with Motorola, on the same day, was held at Mary Fitzgerald Square in Newtown and attracted 3 000 revellers.
Beginning at 10pm and continuing till the early hours of the morning, the MTV concert featured Zola, Springbok Nude Girls, The Parlotones and Prokid.
It also included new talent in the form of Cassette, The Dirty Skirts and hip-hoppers Jozi, featuring Brenda Fassie's son Bongani and R&B star Ishmael.
Celebrities like Unathi, Isaac Chokwe, Kerishnie Naidoo and members of Skwatta Kamp also attended.
The 94.7 concert, on the other hand, was more family based, with the first act, Jazzy D, going on at 10am.
The concert featured Arno Carstens, Prime Circle, Karen Zoid and Watershed, among others.
Highveld Stereo also flew out Just Jinjer, who have relocated to the US, for the event.
The radio station is considering moving the event to a larger venue and increasing the number of live acts.
