What appeared to be a fight over suspected infidelity eventually turned into a suicide mission for a Durban man, who swerved off the road and crashed his brown Nissan Qashqai.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) said they were called to the scene of a single car accident involving a husband and wife.
They found the brown Nissan SUV had crashed into the bushes, with the female passenger sustaining injuries to her back and the male driver uninjured.
The 49-year-old woman alleged that her husband had threatened to end both of their lives after a dispute escalated while they were driving from Cottonlands to Mhlasini.
The argument apparently started after she found female clothing in his car.
It is alleged that the husband attempted to crash into a tree, after making the those threats, but instead the vehicle ended up striking a boulder, which brought it to a stop, RUSA representatives said.
At this stage it’s not clear whether criminal charges will be laid against the driver of the vehicle.
