Is there a prison big enough for all of them

Most people have heard of Ted Bundy, America’s most notorious serial killer. Bundy was accused of murdering, raping, and kidnapping over 80 young women.

His gruesome methods of killing his victims would be traumatising to describe. Bundy was the subject of numerous books, movies, and documentaries. The world has a morbid fascination with the psychology and psychopathy of such individuals.

This fascination likely stems from wondering how on earth one loses all their humanness – to become so inured and immune to the pain of another human being’s suffering that they would not only take the life of that individual, but wrench it from them using the most innovative, creative, and disturbing methods. Bundy’s crimes will forever stain the annals of American history.

What environmental factors birth such individuals? What can possibly be used to justify such a departure from humanity? For even animals do not kill for sport or for pleasure.Of course, once such individuals like Ted Bundy, his cannibalistic counterpart, Jeffrey Dahmer, and Ed Kemper – who famously decapitated his parents – were apprehended, jailed, and given the death penalty, society slept much easier.

But what of those who roam free?

What if I told you that at this moment, there are hundreds of Teds, Eds, and Jeffs roaming around in broad daylight, committing the same crimes?

“That’s ridiculous,” you’d scoff.

Law enforcement, the FBI, the CIA, Mossad – these agencies would never allow society to be at the mercy of these people.

But there are. In Israeli prisons, Palestinian prisoners are being raped, tortured, and abused in ways that would likely make Ted Bundy blush.

A leaked video from an Israeli prison shows cold, hard evidence of mass rape, animal abuse, physical torture, and crimes too heinous to mention in this good publication. The officer who leaked the video attempted suicide. The accused officers received a hero’s welcome in the Knesset.

Who will profile the mentality of Israeli society? Would they have cheered on Ted Bundy had he been alive? He would have probably gotten a top position in the Israeli government.

The world keeps blathering on about Israel’s morality. There are piles and piles of evidence mounting.

A new documentary released by a Western media outlet, called Breaking The Ranks, details real testimony from former IDF war reservists admitting to crimes that broke international law.

We have all the information. Who is going to take the world’s first mass serial-killing country to account? And which prison will be large enough to hold them? | Z khan Durban

Teach the little boys and we can end GBV

The men of South Africa should hang their heads in shame at the statistics that we see on gender-based violence in our country as they go up and up!

Where have we gone so wrong?

We have circumcision schools? What do they actually teach the young men going into adulthood? Nothing if the stats have anything to say. We have had all sorts of movements and ads over the years, but nothing changes! Do we remember the Charlize Theron advertisement where she asked: “Where are all the real men out there”? We never found them!

We now have the Purple Movement being bandied around and it calls for “justice, unity and change”. One of the things it says is one must do is lie down at noon for a minute for each of the 15 women murdered daily in SA. That’s not going to change the minds of men.

Ranji Reddy, the Chief Director of Research and Policy in the Department of Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities, was asked about gender-based violence and her answers were vague and none of them inspired any form of confidence in her. One of the questions was: “Would you agree gender-based violence is a national crisis?” to which her answer was, “it’s a very politically-loaded question you’re asking?” What was she talking about?

We can talk until we are blue in the face and have movements and ads, but where we need to be is getting to little boys at a grass-roots level. Little boys should be taught how to be behave with little girls. It is too late to change a male once he is in adulthood because hs is set in his patriarchal ways and won’t change, but little boys will learn. Have classes every day at all our schools. Get all the boys involved and you will soon see a change.

They aren’t learning anything at home so lets get them learning at school! Maybe something will rub off on the dads. | Barbie Sandler Cape Town

Fear not the Marxists, but the Afrikaaners

Dear Mr Trump this is a friendly, yet tongue-in-cheek warning.

Fear not the Mamdani Marxists in your country, but be very careful with the Afrikaaners you are importing into your country. They are a radical revolutionary bunch. Ask the Brits what they taught them about trench-warfare. About guerrilla-warfare.

Of late they have discovered, not the groen, this they discovered when they trekked over the Drakensberg. Fôk! Yes, they have discovered the fôkness. And now everything is F…, F…!

This may come to disrupt your non-standard English. They insist on calling the burn-offering of meat a Braai while you try and get them to speak English nicely and call it a Barbi-queue. They may just run back to where they come from.

They show this primitive, backward practice of kaalvoetness; without shoes, well, there goes your shoe-industry. Then there is their tendency of kortbroekness. There goes your clothing industry.

And to annoy you even more, they may turn up in something called a kort-broek safari-suit. And, God forbid, with an afro-comb in a thick nylon sock and some sandals.

The revolutionary dress-sense of your new imports is their way of clandestinely advancing the climate change agenda of less is enough – who needs more? Then there is this sacrilegious practice of diluting your national drink – that black, fizzy one – with brandy, which they call brannas and coke.

You will find they do not play rugby wearing motorbike helmets or those 1980s style fashionable stuffed shoulder pads.

When they gooi the taal be very, very weary of them. If asked if they will vote for you, you may get a Jaah-Neeh. Again they are not faking it, it is just this revolutionary tendency they employ to confuse you; Ja-Nee?

When trenches mysteriously appear all over the US of A, know it is not the aliens mining that newly discovered rare-earth element, Trumpecium-557. To stop this revolutionary back-sliding behaviour of them digging trenches, give them a tractor and a plough. They may protest with donner-moer, but will soon settle down and do the job which they are good at.

They are not afraid to work even though their country of birth may say; you either self-employ or you wait for SASSA as every-one else is doing or you leave the country and look for work elsewhere.

In closing, Mr Trump know this: In our country no-one is ever enough in the eyes of some-one. But when they team up and staan-saam in a winning team, such as rugby, we all realise: Everyone is enough and should be treated as such. | Glenville Wyngaard Bredasdorp
