From Durban to the Alps: Jojo Robinson and family escape to a picturesque ski retreat

The Robinson family has traded Mzansi’s long summer days for the breathtaking slopes of the French Alps.

Jojo Robinson, a reality TV star from "The Real Housewives of Durban", shared glimpses of her snow-filled vacation on social media, alongside her husband, Calven, and their son, Rocco.

The trio jetted off to the French Alps to enjoy a thrilling ski vacation, staying at the picturesque Club Med resort, Club Valmoral.

Jojo recounted their travel experience, stating: “The most stressful long day ever... Nearly 30 hours of travelling. A delayed flight that nearly made us miss a connecting flight, running through the airport, messing up with our transport, vomiting in the car, nearly drove off a cliff. But we arrived. 😂.”

Upon arrival, Jojo revealed they were experiencing temperatures of minus 11 degrees Celsius.

“It’s stunning; this place is like a postcard. It’s wild. It’s like a dream,” she expressed in her Instagram post.

The family wasted no time and hit the slopes, enjoying various activities, including skiing and snowboarding.

A winter vacation in the French Alps offers a magical, snow-filled wonderland, complete with world-class skiing and diverse non-skiing activities such as snowshoeing and ice skating.

Visitors can explore charming festive villages and cosy chalets, indulging in delicious food that caters to all ages and skill levels for an unforgettable outdoor adventure and cultural escape.

The Robinsons have always been avid snow chasers, so this getaway comes as no surprise.

In July 2025, Jojo and her family ventured into the majestic Drakensberg mountains on a snow-chasing adventure, hoping to catch snow closer to home during the school holidays.

“Good for the soul and needed... A little family getaway to the beautiful berg. 🩷 And we are hoping for snowfall tomorrow...,” she encouraged her followers to share in their snowy hopes.

This trip to the French Alps follows Jojo's recent birthday celebrations on December 30, 2025.

Friends and family showered Jojo with love on her special day, including castmates from "The Real Housewives of Durban" and "Ultimate Girls Trip Africa", such as Princess Jecoco, Annie Mthembu, Sorisha Naidoo, Maria Valaskatzis, and twins Ayanda Mthembu and Andile Pieterson.

The highlight of the birthday celebrations was a touching message from Nonku Williams, acknowledging their friendship and sisterhood.
