South African beauty Shudufhadzo Musida misses home during NYC's bitter winter

“I’m not built for the cold.”

Those are the words of Shudufhadzo Musida as cold temperatures settle in across parts of the US, including New York City, where the South African model currently resides.

Musida took to Instagram to share her homesickness and longing for Mzansi’s sunny skies and warm beach days.

“There’s a snowstorm coming to NYC 🥹 and if you know me, you know I’m not built for the cold. I’d give anything to be back on the beach for one last hoorah😭,” she said.

The reflection was accompanied by a video of the model strutting her curves while wearing a leopard print bikini at a beach in Cape Town, with views of Table Mountain in the backdrop.

Musida also revealed that the video was taken by her lover. “When my other half sneaks pics or videos of me, I’m usually asleep with my mouth open or knocked out in the car 💀 but this time… 😍,” she said.

Musida is back in New York, where she is studying for her Master's degree at Columbia University.

She shared a video on her Instagram stories, showing herself outside on the streets of the concrete jungle in minus 11 degrees Celsius, with roads and cars covered in snow.

The US National Weather Service (NWS) has warned Americans to expect dangerously low temperatures caused by an Arctic air mass sweeping across parts of the country, including New York.

The model celebrated the festive season and New Year back home on vacation in Cape Town, making the most of her South African summer.

“The sweetness of doing nothing ❤️. Imagining calling South Africa your home 😍😮‍💨❤️ Blessed! #southafrica #fyp #beach #vacation,” she said.

During her time back home, Musida also visited Boulders Beach and the Stellenbosch winelands, enjoying fine dining in the region.

“I had half a burger beforehand, and I regretted doing that because the food and the company was gooooooood 🥹😅😍.”
