A big thank you to the City of Cape Town through Greg Oelofse, councillor Elton Jansen and others who have fought tooth and nail (and claw) to finally get the construction started on the badly weather-damaged Fishermen’s Lane, or Broken Roads in Strandfontein.

There were many doubters and critics who believed this development would never materialise.

When the battle started in 2016, I wrote many emails to former and current City officials, the Cape Argus, the Cape Times, the Plainsman and the Daily Voice who took up the issue to expose and highlight the drastic need to upgrade Broken Roads.

Thank you. Now it is being done there will always be the shoreline critics who should be grateful the upgrade is now within hook, line and sinker the catch for the visiting beachgoers.
