THE BAXTER Theatre’s festive season programme will culminate in its popular New Year’s Eve party.
Currently on stage at the theatre are Alistair Izobell’s Remembering The Lux, Stuart Taylor’s 2015 in Revue, Platform 9 Two Park Station and for the little ones, Janice Honeyman’s Bangalory’s Back.
The New Year’s Eve party will take place after the evening performances on Thursday, when audiences will gather in the Baxter’s foyers to sing, dance and party into the new year with some of the their favourite stars.
All the shows will start later on the night and ticket prices will be varied to include the show, a complimentary glass of bubbly or orange juice and a traditional balloon drop, with a live band led by the inimitable Nur Abrahams who will sing perennial favourites

The Luxurama Theatre and the artists who performed there are celebrated in this tribute, written and directed by Izobell and Lara Foot.
In Remembering The Lux, the cast brings to life its history and revive the heyday of this grand old dame of entertainment and cinema, through stories, memories, anecdotes and classic hit songs.
The ensemble comprises Izobell, Terry Fortune, Terry Hector, Loukmaan Adams, Niesha Abrahams, Leslie Kleinsmith, Giempie Vardien, Nur Abrahams and Kashiefa Blaauw, accompanied by a six-piece live band, led by Donveno Prins.
Stuart Taylor, Oscar Petersen and Mel Jones take a comedic look at 2015 – the highlights, the lowlights and the lack of lights in the brand new comedy Stuart Taylor’s 2015 in Revue. It is a feel-good comedy show - from stand-up to comedy sketches and special guest comedians, join the hilarious team as they say goodbye (and for some, good riddance) to 2015 and bid a warm hello and welcome to an amazing 2016. The show is at 8.15pm Mondays to Saturdays and runs until January 9.
Following the success of their 2013 hit production Platform 9, local television personalities Maurice Paige from Isidingo and Theodore Jantjies from 7de Laan once again team up with director Christo Davids (also of 7de Laan-fame) to present this sequel Platform 9 Two Park Station.
Two friends travel from Cape Town to Johannesburg by train and along the way they encounter some really interesting and funny characters. It is a heartwarming and side-splitting story about friendship, trust and human relationships. The show runs until January 16.
