Hillsong’s popular Christmas Spectacular will be staged at GrandWest’s Grand Arena on December 20 at 12.45pm, 3.45pm and 6.45pm.
The musical stage show, produced by Hillsong, aims to captivate audiences with a full programme of acting, singing and dancing designed to captivate audiences of all ages. It will feature over 100 performers, extravagant sets and screens, costumes and a festive musical score.
This is the second time the production will be staged at GrandWest.
“This is the seventh year we’re hosting the annual Christmas Spectacular in Cape Town and we do it as a gift to our city. We encourage everyone to bring friends and family along; the show will be fun, interactive and wonderfully entertaining for the entire family. Parents might even enjoy it more than the kids,” says Hillsong lead pastor Phil Dooley.
Speaking about what audience can expect, creative producer Mandy Butler says that the characters will have people laughing, dancing, crying and singing along to carols. “Every year we aim to bring a fresh presentation of the Christmas story to the stage that promises to captivate the audience and this year we’re taking it to another level with fun and beautiful elements, as well as popular festive carols and characters,” she says.
