Zuma reappoints Nombembe to SARB board

CAPE TOWN - President Jacob Zuma has reappointed Terrence Nombembe as a non-executive director to the board of the South African Reserve Bank according to a statement released by The Presidency.

Nombembe, the state's former auditor general will serve for a renewed period of 3 years.

"The president has congratulated Mr Nombembe and has wished him all the best in his responsibilities," read the statement.

President Zuma faces yet another test of leadership today when parliament votes on a motion of no confidence in his presidency. On Monday, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Baleka Mbete announced that the vote, which is scheduled for 2pm on Tuesday will take place through secret ballot, an unprecedented move in the country's democratic history.

This is the 8th time since 2009 that Zuma will face a motion of no confidence vote but the first through secret ballot.
