Rapper Cassper Nyovest has publicly backed Drip Footwear founder Lekau Sehoana, whose business is facing liquidation due to financial struggles.
He took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his solidarity with Sehoana, encouraging him that he will return stronger. He emphasised the hardships of owning a business, referring to him as a “fighter.”
“Lekau is a fighter!!! He built an amazing company, and he has an inspiring story.
“Business is hard, it’s got ups and downs. I also want to say that he has had my back since we met and worked together. I got your back!!! Keep your head up, g!!! I know you’ll be back with a bang!” he said in a post.
Sehoana responded to the post, commenting: “Brother, we’re definitely not starting from the bottom. Thanks, king.”
Drip Footwear is Sehoana’s popular footwear brand that has been part of the fashion scene since July 2019 and has been embraced by South African youth and prominent celebrities.
The company was ordered into liquidation in September by the Johannesburg High Court after Wideopen Platform, a company specialising in large-impact advertising, took the shoe brand to court for failing to pay R20 million for advertising services.
Cassper’s fans also praised the rapper for showing support to Sehoana, emphasising that his efforts do not go unnoticed, as his business has managed to employ a number of people during its peak.
