Award-winning musician Naledi Aphiwe is a part of the 2024 matric class and is celebrating passing.
Despite her busy career, which has seen her release new music such as "Ngifuna Wena" and winning Soft 'n Free Pop Artist of the Year at the 2024 Basadi in Music Awards, she has passed her matric exams with a bachelor's pass.
The singer who attended Khethokuhle Secondary, shared the good news with her Instagram followers, "bachelor's pass babies".
Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) president Julius Malema celebrated his son, Mushavi Ratanang Malema passing his matric with outstanding marks that earned him a bachelor’s degree pass.
Malema took to Instagram stories, to share and celebrate his son’s achievement on Monday night.
“Look at this excellent Bachelor's Degree,” he wrote.
“We're right in the thick of things. We are not sleeping tonight. Congratulations my boy, Tshipi ya Bokgalaka!.”
Malema's eldest son reportedly attended the top Johannesburg school St David’s Marist Inanda, which has obtained a whopping 100% pass rate, with 99% achieving bachelor’s degree passes.
‘Young, Famous & African’ and actress Khanyi Mbau's daughter Khanukani, also known as Khanz, passed her matric with an A-aggregate and 80% admission points score (APS).
Mbau took to her Instagram stories and celebrated her only daughter and said: "To my little girl Khanz, congratulations on passing matric and doing soo well. Thank you for making me a proud mommy #Classof2024"
The reality TV star revealed to TshisaLIVE that her daughter will be taking a gap year travelling the world for 13 months.
The Independent Examinations Board (IEB) achieved an impressive 98.47% pass rate, which has been the highest in the past five years. In 2023, it achieved a 98.46% pass rate.
Public schools achieved a national pass rate of 87.3%, the highest since the dawn of democracy, while in 2023 it achieved an 82.9% pass rate.
