Renowned hitmaker Master KG also known as “Wanitwa Mos” and Nkosazana Daughter have announced the release of their highly anticipated joint project, “Makhelwane”.

The album Makhelwane, which translates to “Neighbour“ was inspired by the creative journey of the two artists, who come from different backgrounds, Pedi and Zulu.

In a statement released to the media, this soulful album beautifully blends Wanitwa Mos’s signature of Limpopo bolo house sound with the essence of amapiano, showcasing their synergy as the creators of the chart-topping hits "Dali Nguwe" and "Sofa Silahlane".

Prior to its formal release, “Makhelwane” became gold, having already earned over 30 million certified streams in South Africa. The album has received an amazing 104 million plays on all platforms as of the moment.

Wanitwa Mos expressed deep gratitude for the overwhelming support, acknowledging the surreal experience of reaching 10 years in the industry and witnessing “Makhelwane” surpass 100 million streams.

“Reaching 10 years in the industry and seeing ”Makhelwane“ hit over 100 million streams is truly surreal. When we dropped ”Dali Nguwe“ back in 2021, people kept asking us to create more, and I’m so happy we’ve not only done that but also reached over 36 million views on YouTube,” he said.

This album featured a star-studded line-up of collaborations with some of the industry’s finest, including Mthunzi, Big Zulu, Zee Nxumalo, JL SA, Nobuhle, Mashudu, HarryCane, and Casswell P.

The single, "Mfazi we Phepha" features both Wanitwa Mos and Nkosazana Daughter alongside Big Zulu and Zee Nxumalo.

“We’ve poured so much love and energy into this music, and to finally release our first album together feels incredible. We’ve made sure every song hits home, and trust me, this is just the start,” Wantiwa Mos said.

Nkosazana Daughter also emphasised the importance of unity and support within the industry, particularly highlighting the need for women to stand together and collaborate as creatives.

An exclusive album listening event also took place at Hatfield VW Bryanston on Thursday, August 29, just before its release.

In addition, the event commemorated the 10-year anniversary of Wanitwa Mos in the music industry. Wanitwa Mos and Nkosazana Daughter were given gold plaques in honour of their contributions to the record, marking a historic occasion.
