In a bold and compassionate move, Ayanda Larkin-Harrison, a dedicated community builder and the founder of Vuyolethu Haven, is spearheading a charity event aimed at enhancing support for children with Autism.

The event is scheduled for August 24, at Bertha Gxowa Hospital in Germiston.

Vuyolethu Haven Launch Charity Event will focus on raising awareness, education, and training to address the challenges faced by children with Autism and their families.

Ayanda Larkin-Harrison’s commitment to the cause is deeply personal. As a parent of a child living with Autism, she brings first hand experience and empathy to her advocacy efforts.

“The impact of Autism on families is profound, and I am passionate about making a difference,” said Larkin-Harrison.

Her personal journey drives her dedication to improving the lives of children with Autism and fostering greater understanding within the community.

The launch event promises a full day of engaging activities and enlightening discussions.

Key features include a Neurodiverse Young Experts Panel, where panelists will share their personal experiences on a range of topics including educational challenges, acceptance, coping strategies, and employment opportunities.

These discussions are intended to offer valuable insights and highlight the diverse experiences of neurodiverse individuals.

In addition to the panel, the event will touch on important themes such as mental health and well-being within communities.

By providing a platform for young neurodiverse voices, the event aims to promote inclusivity and understanding, while also offering practical advice for educators, employers, and healthcare providers.

The Vuyolethu Haven Launch Event has several key objectives of raising awareness, promoting inclusitivity, empowerment, networking and celebrating caregivers.

"This event will not only raise awareness but also provide a platform for neurodiverse individuals to share their stories and experiences.”

The Vuyolethu Haven Launch Event is more than just a fundraiser, it is a celebration of inclusivity, empowerment, and community solidarity.
