The Red Cross Society Western Cape (WC) celebrated a tremendous success with their annual fundraising High Tea and Auction on July 5th at the Vineyard Hotel.

The event featured a blend of top-tier performances, exquisite cuisine, and generous contributions, all in support of the Red Cross’s vital community services in the Western Cape.

Local TV celebrity Katlego Maboe hosted the event, captivating the audience with his charm and a breathtaking rendition of “Angels”, accompanied by world-class violinist Yinka Vitula. Additionally, Dr Steve Harris delivered a compelling speech that left the audience spellbound.

“We are so proud of this first-class event,” said Tracey Botha, Fundraising and PR Manager. “People really got their money’s worth, and it is all for a great cause. We hope that worthwhile entertaining events like this will build our brand as one that offers excellent value for money while raising funds for a worthy cause. Look out for our next one!”

The event was made possible by incredible sponsors, with special mention to Harley Davidson, recognised as the most incredible sponsor, and the Thinking Company, which donated more than R300,000 worth of workshops.

For those who missed the event, there is another fantastic opportunity to support the essential work of the SA Red Cross Society WC. By purchasing a raffle ticket, participants stand a chance to win a Harley Davidson Sportster 72. Tickets are limited and can be bought online at Computicket or at the money market kiosks in Checkers/Shoprite stores.

“Join the journey of HOPE today and be part of the change that YOU want to see in South Africa!" Botha urged.

According to the Red Cross WC, all funds raised from these events go directly towards funding their critical community services, ensuring that the organisation can continue to provide support and care to those in need.
