A flash drive tailored for cars

Data storage device maker SanDisk has developed a clever new USB flash drive that fits flush against the face of your car's USB-compatible audio system.

Many factory-fitted and aftermarket car stereos are equipped with USB ports, but the common and often bulky dimensions of most USB sticks can be an eyesore when sticking out of a dashboard.

The new SanDisk Cruzer Fit, however, is only about the size of a 20-cent piece and, inserted in your car radio, it will sit flush with the face - meaning the days of accidentally knocking it out while driving are over.

It can be used to store all types of files including music, video, photo and text documents.

Also, because it is a standardised size, it can be used with any computer, laptop, TV, or gaming console. It is sold in 4 gig (for around R100), 8 gig (R150) and 16 gig (R250) sizes and is available from Game, Hi-Fi Corp, Dion Wired and Incredible Connection. - Star Motoring
