A red McLaren for my Valentine

Woking, England - While most people are content to celebrate February 14th with the obligatory flowers or heart-shaped chocolates, one well-heeled petrolhead with a romantic streak decided to commission something special: a one-of-a-kind Valentine's Day-themed McLaren 570S Spider.

It's not known whether the unnamed buyer, who takes delivery of the car today, bought the car for themselves or as a gift for a 'special someone'.  What we do know is that the incurable romantic splashed out on a full-blown red theme to the topless two-seater that was hand-assembled at McLaren's Woking factory.

The carbon-fibre sports car is painted Vermillion Red and is matched with a designer interior in red and black leather. The combination of Apex Red and Jet Black Nappa Leathers and Carbon Black Alcantara trim material is complemented by carbon-fibre trim elements on the doors and centre tunnel. The seatbelts and steering wheel are also red, while outside, red brake calipers and red pin-striped Pirelli P Zero 'Colour Edition' tyres complete the Valentine's theme.

It's all matched to red-hot performance as you might expect, with the 3.8-litre, twin-turbocharged V8 engine giving the 570S Spider the ability to scorch to 100km/h in just 3.1 seconds, and on to a top speed of 328km/h with the roof closed (and 315km/h with the roof down).

The 570S Spider employs racecar-style, double-wishbone suspension all-round, with the same suspension and steering settings as 570S Coupé models to ensure exceptional cornering ability. The driver can choose from Normal, Sport or Track chassis modes for progressively softer or firmer suspension.

This particular 570S Spider may be spoken for, but McLaren Special Operations allows you to commission a car that's personalised to your heart's content - with the only limits being your budget and imagination.
