Durban - Jeremy Clarkson was at the helm of Top Gear for 27 years straight, until his dismissal for lashing out at a producer in frustration.
To some he is the epitome of "imperialistic arrogance" but he's often admired for the way in which he mixed wit, sarcasm, prejudice and male chauvinism into an explosion akin to the ignition of petrol and oxygen.
James "Captain Slow" May and Richard "Hamster" Hammond, Clarkson's co-presenters through years of Top Gear, are following Clarkson off the sets of the BBC. We shall not see their like again.
