The Porsche 918 Spyder made its dynamic public debut. The plug-in hybrid can run from 0-100km/h in 2.8 secs, thanks to a mid-mounted 4.6 V8 mated to two electric motors for a total system output of 661kW.

A dead-cert on the bucket list of many petrol-heads, the Goodwood Festival of Speed once again lived up to its reputation of being the largest motoring garden party in the world.
Far hotter than the British heat wave that festival-goers were treated to was the gluttonous array of supercars, concept cars and race cars - from the most modern of machines to legends of yesteryear - all seen in action on Goodwood's famous hillclimb event.
