From the strange to the bold and the (somewhat) beautiful, it’s been an interesting week in the world of motoring.

What a mixed bag it was on the car launch front. Starting at the bottom end of the scale, Opel unveiled its new Adam city car , with which it hopes to compete with trendy players like the Fiat 500. At the every other end of the scale, we also got our first glimpse of the gorgeous Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster .

A few cars also got the nip and tuck treatment, these being the Audi Q5 and Mazda MX-5 , while the quirky new Mercedes CLS Shooting Break has now been shown off in AMG 63 form .

As for the news that affects us in South Africa, we received word that thousands of driving licences could be deemed invalid if proposed amendments to the National Road Traffic Act become law.

This week also saw its fair share of bizarre news, like a taxi going bonkers , dragging a vehicle in Cape Town traffic, or the German Mayor who’s decreed that certain tight parking spaces be used by men only .

If you need some relaxation after reading all of that, be sure to watch the latest Ken Block video , where the rally-stunt driver lets loose in San Francisco.
