London - Jeremy Clarkson has had quite a busy year, but in and amongst hauling a very big tent around the world and assembling cardboard boxes for YouTube videos, the world's favourite motor mouth has also found the time to get intimate with some very cool cars. In an expectedly entertaining article on the UK's Sunday Times website , Clarkson names his top ten cars of 2015/16. “If a car doesn't make you excited every time you climb inside, then it's just a tool. And if it's just a tool, you may as well use the bus,” he mutters. We concur, but we'll have to take his word for it on the Zafira.
Mazda MX-5 2.0 Sport Recaro:“It's a cure for depression, this car, it really is.”
Alfa Romeo 4C coupé:“Think of it as a Ferrari puppy.”
Mercedes-AMG GT S:“This is a modern-day muscle car. It's Merc's Mustang.”
Ford Focus RS:“It feels like a Nissan GT-R.”
Ford Mustang Fastback V8 GT:“You've seen the film Bullitt. Well, it's that.”
Volvo XC90 D5 AWD:“It's so soothing, you could nod off.”
Vauxhall Zafira Tourer 1.6 CDTi:“Then I went over a bump and didn't feel a thing.”
BMW M2:“It's so good that in a few bends I was actually dribbling with joy.”
Ferrari 488 GTB:“As a driving machine, it's - there's no other word - perfect.”
Lamborghini Aventador:“Given the choice of any supercar, this is the one I'd buy.”
