The Lincolnshire countryside, while it no doubt has its merits, is probably not the most exciting spot in the UK.
However, for a few brief seconds, a British wakeboarding champion and some mates in a 325km/h Ferrari made a decent effort at livening things up. Jorge Gill, 19, was pulled along a river by the £1million F50 supercar as it hit speeds of 135km/h.
Footage of the stunt was shot by TaxTheRich, a secretive group of car enthusiasts known for making extraordinary videos. Previous productions include thrashing a Rolls-Royce around a country estate and taking a Ferrari Enzo rallying.
The TaxTheRich YouTube page only has 15 videos on it, but they have racked up 34.8million views. However, this is the first time a Ferrari – the F50 from the 1990s – has taken a backseat in one of the videos.
Wakeboarding is a sport that blends water skiing, snowboarding and surfing. Jorge, from London, became an internet sensation this year when he wakeboarded through a flooded car park in Guildford. He had the idea for his latest stunt while travelling in Europe.
He said: “I was on a mini-bus when a supercar flew past the bus and next to it was a river. I then spoke to the guys who have the cars and they loved the idea. It went perfectly.”
