Tulsa, Oklahoma - There’s nothing particularly unusual about a dragster getting its nose into the air. Yet it's fair to say that the driver in this video, Daniel Pharris, experienced a rather spectacular takeoff in his 4000 horsepower (2983kW) Corvette at the Tulsa Raceway Park in Oklahoma recently, thankfully without injuring himself.
According to his team
, Daniel did all he could to pedal and bring the car back down “but the wind was under it and absolutely nothing he could do.”
“In mid air, he had the presence of mind to reach up and hit the parachute handle to make sure the chutes were out when it came down in the midst of everything going on.”
Even the car was not too badly damaged, the team promising it’ll be back in action soon “stronger and safer than ever!”
