December is in sight and many places are winding down from a tough year.
However, we do still have a good few months before the builders’ holidays begin and, with the prospect of tourism picking up, many people will be freshening up their holiday lets.
It’s been a tough time for hotels (many shut down due to prolonged antiCovid-19 strategies which saw international borders closed) and also for those who usually make their money from Airbnb or short-term holiday lets.

The dilemma of those who let their property to make a buck from tourism is whether to go with the safe option of a long-term rental or to be brave and hold out, assuming our removal from Britain’s “red list” will result in tourists descending on our shores.
The fact is lockdowns have devastated some industries, particularly the tourism and hospitality industries and holiday letting, B&Bs, lodges and hotels have been particularly hard hit. It has forced us to look at our buy-to-rent investments differently and also how we take our holidays.
I believe we will still only know, as it happens, how human behaviour will change when it comes to how we opt to holiday and the accommodation we choose.
