Former Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has praised Gastón Sirino as a 'top player' after his stand-out performance against SuperSport United in the Carling Knockout Cup on Saturday

Sirino, who joined Amakhosi after falling out of favour with the Brazilians, has been a star performer for the Phefeni Glamour Boys this season, and was again crucial in Chiefs' impressive 4-0 victory over Matsatsantsa a Pitori.

Mosimane, who brought the Uruguayan player to South Africa when he was in charge of Sundowns, responding to a video that was posted on X showing Sirino’s goal against SuperSport, and lauded him as a top talent who had a lots of passion for the beautiful game.

“Class is permanent. Top talent , loves training and has a lot of passion for the game and opinionated. A bit emotional but manageable. A South American player,” Mosimane said.

Sirino will once again be expected to produce the goods for the Soweto giants as they will lock horns against Sundowns in quarter-finals of Carling Knockout Cup.

However, it will not be easy against his former team who made light work of KwaZulu Natal based out Golden Arrows on Saturday to book their spot in quarter-finals.

Amakhosi are currently sixth in the league table after a decent start to the new season saw them collect six points in three games.
