Former Orlando Pirates star Kermit Erasmus has reportedly signed with Chippa United as a free agent following his departure from the Soweto giants.
According to the iDiski Times, Erasmus had been training with the 'Chili Boys' since late December last year.
The 34-year-old Erasmus was released by The Buccaneers in May, alongside Fortune Makaringe, Souaibou Marou, Siyabonga Mpontshane, Thabang Monare, and Richard Ofori.
While his former teammates quickly secured new clubs, Erasmus had, until now, been struggling to find a new team.
The club's assistant coach, Mabhuti Khenyeza, previously praised Erasmus, noting that his track record speaks for itself.

“Everyone knows Kermit. His history speaks for itself, and with his experience and having played abroad. He’s at home now and he always makes sure he does better. We, myself and Thabo, played with him when he was still young at SuperSport United.
“We understand each other and the connection was here all the time. We know his strengths and weaknesses and he’ll bring great value to the club, Khenyeza said as per Timeslive.
Chippa United are currently struggling in the Betway Premiership, sitting in a disappointing 11th place. They will be hoping that Erasmus can make an immediate impact to help the club climb up the table.
Erasmus brings a wealth of experience and played a key role in helping The Buccaneers secure two MTN 8 titles, as well as a Nedbank Cup title, before the start of the new season.
Chippa will face Marumo Gallants in their next match after their clash against Royal AM was postponed. The 34-year-old is expected to be available for selection.
