Saturday’s crunch Betway Premiership clash between Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns at the sold out FNB Stadium has been delayed.
The game was scheduled to kick off at 3pm, but will now kick off at 3.30pm due to the volume of fans attending the game at the sold out venue.
“Due to heavy traffic outside, and due to another event close by, it has an impact on delaying spectators getting into the stadium,” said the match commissioner Robert Sithole.

“As a result, we looked at the safety of spectators and decided to delay the match to 3.30pm,” he said.
With both teams starting the new league season in an impressive fashion, their fans are clamouring to see them live in action.
Under Nasreddine Nabi, Chiefs look a completely different unit than they were last season, where they finished 10th.
In their two games so far, Amakhosi have displayed the kind of swag that was last seen when they last won the league in 2015. They were unplayable in the first half hour of their clash against AmaZulu earlier this week, where they went on to win 3-1. And in their league opener against Marumo Gallants, they played with confidence and maturity, even after going a goal down.
So far, everything suggests that Kaizer Chiefs are back among the big boys.
For the champions Sundowns, they will be out to prove that they are still the undisputed kings of South African football.
After a perfect start to their season, many still doubt that Manqoba Mngqithi is the right man to lead the side following Rulani Mokwena’s sudden departure.
A win against Chiefs will ease a lot of fans’ worries about Mngqithi’s credentials.
