Award-winning musician Langa Mavuso has his old and new fans singing along to his latest single, “Best Friend”.
According to Mavuso, the new track is a dedicated to loved ones and cherished companions.
“‘Best Friend’ invites listeners to celebrate their closest relationships, whether it be with lovers, friends, or anyone who holds a special place in their hearts.
“It’s a song that speaks to the importance of connection and companionship in our lives,” said the “Lost Love” hitmaker.
He added that the inspiration for the song came from falling in love.
“It’s almost like when you first made a friend in school and finally felt like you mattered and belonged somewhere.”
“It’s about a renewed spirit that is open and fearless. This song embodies all the beautiful I think you can find in love after pain.”
The singer said that those who listen to the song should “lose control”.
“They should lose control and step into something that they might not know because there might be something magical there.”
Since bursting onto the scene with his critically acclaimed EP, “Liminal Sketches”, in 2016, the soulful musician has established himself as a star in his own right.
His unique ability to blend emotional depth with compelling narratives has captured audiences across South Africa, earning him a devoted fan base and solidifying his place as an important figure in South Africa’s music industry.
Last year, while still grieving the death of his partner, celebrity chef Lentswe Bhengu-Mafoko, Mavuso promised fans a new album.
Now that he is back on the music scene with his new single, fans are hopeful that they will hear more tracks from him in the upcoming months.
