South African rapper Dee Koala's messy breakup goes viral

South African rapper Dee Koala has been the talk of the town after ex-boyfriend Yonke exposed their private conversations.

In a series of posts on Instagram stories, Yonke opened up about how Koala manipulated him to remain in a relationship with her.

He said he was forced to publicise their relationship after just one week of dating.

Yonke wrote: “One week and I was all over TikTok because it was good for her image la [that] content. I was just a normal guy until I was introduced to a life of alcohol, drugs and being a purse kwi [at] gigs kodwa [yet] I got work at 7 am.

“Had to put up a smile even when it became too much cos [because] we’re not trying to mess up la [that] image. All of this came at a cost of my mental well-being and now you shocked?”

He also revealed that Koala cheated on that the “Gwan” hitmaker begged him not to leave her and suggested they move in together because they “belonged together” and were “crazy about each other”.

While it was evident from their exchanges that the duo were toxic towards each other, many men on social media focused on the fact that Koala had multiple abortions while dating Yonke.

Some came to her defence arguing that abortion was legal in South Africa and, as a person at the peak of her career, it only made sense for her not to have children she was not ready for.

“Dee Koala ain’t wrong. Yk [you know] how many times men tell us on this app to choose better baby daddies when things go south and now that she’s actively doing it men are mad 🤣 make it make sense, please,” commented @Rato___Zondi.

Another X user, @Kim_Khandashisa, said: “I know a man that wants to ruin your career with pregnancy when I see one. You know the kind to slow you down to either humble you or ruin your life? Happy that Dee Koala has the option to opt out of that mess.”

Koala has yet to comment on the matter.
