In a democratic society and a free market system, the ANC Youth League, Just Coal and role-players in Eskom must be fully investigated for behaviour that is tantamount to criminal self-enrichment.
While this investigation is under way, the alleged culprits must immediately cease business, employment or their political role, without remuneration, until the allegations are proven to be unfounded or otherwise.
Just Coal allegedly paid R500 000 to the ANCYL to favour them in a coal contract. While ANCYL members distanced themselves from these claims, the public is not convinced of their innocence.
If ANCYL is genuinely not a party to such a deal, it should make a full refund to Just Coal.
Once-proud African traditions and culture are being compromised and prostituted for money. Many of our leaders have an Idi Amin mentality, with no reasoning power, and are content to trample on the poor.
South Africa will soon find that more than 80% of the government departments are bankrupt. We will carry a basketful of money to buy a handful of food. I predict they will print R500 and R1000 notes next year.
