Sello More, the Municipal Manager of Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality, has made significant strides in improving the quality of life for the residents of Mangaung since taking office.

His impressive track record is a testament to his leadership skills, vision, and commitment to serving the community still buckling under the burden of immerseration by apartheid. It is only a fool who would dare to suggest that 300 years of colonial settler oppression can be eradicated in 30 years, to those misguided souls I say: let us look ahead to the future with hope like Sello More is doing.

One of his most notable achievements is the establishment of a robust infrastructure development program aimed at addressing the municipality's ageing infrastructure. Under his leadership, the municipality has invested heavily in road construction, upgrading of stormwater drains, and the provision of reliable water and sanitation services. This has greatly improved the overall aesthetic appeal of the city and enhanced the quality of life for residents.

In addition to infrastructure development, Sello More has prioritised the delivery of basic services such as electricity, water, and sanitation. He has ensured that the municipality is responsive to the needs of its residents, particularly in informal settlements, where access to basic services is often limited. His efforts have led to a significant reduction in service delivery protests, as residents now have faith in the municipality's ability to provide for their needs.

Another area where Sello More has excelled is in promoting economic development and job creation. He has been instrumental in attracting new investments to the city, creating much-needed jobs and stimulating economic growth. His efforts have led to the establishment of new businesses, particularly in the manufacturing and tourism sectors, which have contributed to the growth of the local economy.

Sello More is also credited with improving the financial management of the municipality. He has instilled a culture of transparency and accountability, ensuring that the municipality's finances are managed prudently and effectively. This has led to a significant improvement in the municipality's audit outcomes.

Furthermore, the administration of Mangaung has promoted a culture of accountability and good governance within the municipality. The administration has ensured that the municipality is transparent in its dealings, and that residents have access to information about the municipality's activities and decisions. This has fostered a sense of trust between the municipality and its residents, leading to improved cooperation and collaboration.

In terms of social services, Mangaung administration has ensured that all primary and secondary schools are serviced in terms of the legislative mandate with regards to service delivery of water, sanitation, and refuse collection etc.

Sello More's commitment to community empowerment is another notable aspect of his leadership. He has established programs aimed at empowering local communities, particularly youth and women, through skills development and training initiatives. These programs have equipped residents with the skills and knowledge necessary to participate meaningfully in the economy and improve their socio-economic circumstances.

In terms of track record, Sello More has a reputation for being a competent and effective leader. Prior to his appointment as Municipal Manager, he served in various senior leadership positions within the municipality, where he demonstrated his ability to manage complex projects and teams. His experience and skills have been instrumental in his success as Municipal Manager, where he has consistently delivered on his mandate to provide quality services to the residents of Mangaung.

Just on August 15, 2024 in the Bram Fisher Building Sello More chaired the IGR- Technical Forum which included, PRASA, ACSA, Chamber of Commerce etc. and all other relevant role players to ensure service delivery is efficient and effective for the people of Mangaung. The IGR Technical Forum is crucial for coordinating service delivery and thus Sello More's involvement as Municipal Manager leading this forum is essential for ensuring effective collaboration.

In looking at the way forward, Sello More's achievements as Municipal Manager of Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality is a testament to his leadership skills, vision, and commitment to serving the community. His impressive track record speaks to his ability to deliver quality services, promote economic development, and improve the overall quality of life for residents.

As he continues to lead the municipality, residents can expect even greater things to come. He has remained steadfast in his commitment to uplift the people of Mangaung even though some fake and vexatious court cases were made to remove him from office as he was seen as a threat by those who are corrupt.

Sello More shatters the myths of the few who hold power and the privilege of money against the interests and the needs of the majority who suffered so much under apartheid. The facts speak for themselves and a cursory glance of the SD-BIP report is a testament to what is happening on the ground, changing the lives of the people of Mangaung and environs one citizen at a time.

Rome wasn’t built in one day; neither was Bloemfontein. It is only a racist detractor who would think otherwise. In terms of his Annual Performance Agreement he is well on track and has obtained high scores based purely on what has been accomplished.

Other notable issues under the new administration is the stability post intervention, we see worker stability, civil society stability and upward performance, including on grant’s performance.
