Through hard work and dedication, Tanzi Loeve has secured her place among the top achievers of the Class of 2024 at Brescia House School.
Tenzisays despite encountering a challenging year, her matric journey was a year of growth and long-lasting memories.
“Overall I found this year to be full of more experiences rather than academic difficulties in contrast to grade 11. As every year does it started more challenging than the last, and settling into the requirements of matric became one of the lows of the year. During that time marks were a bit lower but expectations from myself only became higher,” she said.
She shared her major highlights, including being named the Dux Scholar of the Year and receiving awards for excellence in her subjects.
“My highlight of the year was becoming the Dux Scholar of the year, making that the 4th year in a row. Alongside achieving the Maths, isiZulu, Physical Science, Life Science and Accounting subject awards, I achieved the sportsmanship award.”
Tenzi achieved an outstanding eight distinctions in the 2024 IEB matric exams.
She shared that she hopes to study Medicine and Surgery or Mechanical Engineering at the University of Cape Town (UCT), while also embracing the opportunity to live in the Mother City.
“I hope to study a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery or Mechanical Engineering in 2025 at the University of Cape Town (UCT) as it has been an aspiration of mine as it is the highest-ranking university of excellence in the country and will also allow me to live in the beauty of the Western Cape.
“This will form part of my long-term goal to become a Biomedical Engineer. I have always imagined becoming a surgeon but as I became aware of biomedical engineering it showed me that it will also allow my passion and talent for mathematics and physics to come through in the medical field. I hope with this I can help many people and become part of bettering the future.”
Tenzi shared that during the COVID-19 period, she remained diligent in her studies despite the challenges. She added that the experience gave her an opportunity to deeply reflect on the subjects she was most passionate about.
She advises the Class of 2025 to maintain a balanced approach by continuing with their normal lives while ensuring that they prioritize their studies.
